If you think you are an artist, you are full of shit! Artist is a term that can only be applied by the end consumer of a person’s labors. Calling yourself an artist is like calling yourself an artist is like calling yourself an actor for having been on the news talking about the ‘tornader of ’74‘. So what are you if you aren’t an artist? You are a craftsman of some degree in pursuit of an art, but that does not make one an artist. What degree of competence a person shows varies, but even the best still can’t legitimately call themselves an artist without being pretentious. What should you call yourself if not artist then? Try being humble about it. You are a musician. You are a performer. You are a Photographer. You are an interpretive dancer. You are a graphic designer. You are a Painter. You are a cabinet Maker. You are a woodturner. You are a jewler. You are a composer. You are a mime. You are the singer in the band. I am the walrus. But we are not artists. Say you are proud of your craft, even boast about how good you are, but don’t walk around with your head up your ass saying you are an artist.

Hahaaahhaaa That is a good one. For me, I never for once thought I am anywhere near the term ‘artist’ I cant draw for nuts and can hardly manage a decent picture of a apple. But thats ok. Not everyone can be an “artist”
