Despite the leaderships choice of Michael Steele to be chairman of the Republican Party he doesn’t appear to be in charge of anything. In fact no one who has ever been elected to public office seems to have any say in the way things get done. More is the shame.
The person who actually seems to be in charge is that loud mouth dickhead Rush Limbaugh. After Bobby Jindal’s idiotic lies after the state of the union most of the leadership criticized him as being inept and not speaking very well for the party. Out comes Rush to criticize and denounce every republic that didn’t say Bobby Jindal was the next best thing to Jesus Christ. Rush actually made threats he would use his power to work against anyone who at the very least did tell the public they supported Bobby Jindal as the party’s future. Guess What? Most party members back down to the all powerful demagogue, proving once again what spineless pussies most of them are.
Not everyone acquiesced though. Some chose to be their own man and show they had a pair. In comments that were broadcast over the weekend, Republican Party Chairman Michael Steele called Rush Limbaugh’s rhetoric “incendiary” and “ugly” and insisted that he is in charge of the GOP. No, wait apparently Michael Steele doesn’t have a pair and is as much of a pussy as the others who are puffing on Rush’s self importance.
From CNN:
On Monday, however, after a blistering response from the conservative talk-radio kingpin, Steele told the online journal Politico that he “was maybe a little bit inarticulate.”
“There was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership,” Steele said. He added, “There are those out there who want to look at what he’s saying as incendiary and divisive and ugly. That’s what I was trying to say. It didn’t come out that way.”
I shake my head in dismay at this. Oh sure it might be good for the Democrats in 2012 if the Republican party follow Rush’s lead. However, with that said, it is a dark day for America when it let’s a hate filled demagogue who has never held office run a political party and quash anyone who stands up to him. I might not agree politically with the true Republicans, but that doesn’t mean I don’t pity them for having to stand in the corner with their mouth’s shut and their tails tucked.
