Daisies Not Cancelled King Of The Hill Is Cook's Life After Idol

[ad]What’s Hot is dispelling some rumors and giving up the latest news.

Fear not Pushing Daisies fans, the show is still alive and well. ABC has not yet informed producers whether the series will end after its initial 13-episode order for the current season. In fact, show runner Bryan Fuller confirms that he has not received any word yet on the show’s fate. The current rumor being spread is that Daisies producers were told by ABC to treat episode 13 (which begins filming Monday) as a series finale, which some fans have interpreted as definitive news that the network decided to cancel the series. Not so say reliable sources. Producers have not yet been told whether they will receive a pickup for the remaining nine episodes of the current second season, and that is still a possibility. Producers have not yet been told whether they will receive a pickup for the remaining nine episodes of the current second season, and that is still a possibility. Fans have already been rallying to keep the show on the air and I’m sure that this latest news will just add more fuel to their efforts.

Fox has canceled long-running animated comedy “King of the Hill.” The show’s most recent episode order of 13 half-hours will be its last, a Fox spokesman said Thursday. Given the lead time for animation, it’s likely the series will air its final episode sometime during the 2009-10 season. Though I think it was safe to say that the show was not going to have the longevity of The Simpsons, King did have a respectable thirteen seasons. It has survived the chopping block several times, but with creator Mike Judge no longer actively involved in the show’s production, it may be that this is the best decision for all concerned.

Finally, David Cook spoke with People magazine about his life since he won the latest installment of American Idol, saying that his life isn’t too different than what it was before he was ever on the show. “I think in one sense everything’s changed but in another sense nothing has,” says the reigning Idol champ. “There’s all these different things around me that I didn’t have a year ago. I was able to furnish a home and get a nice car and be able to treat my family to some of the things that I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to do. I’m still a goober from the Midwest. Now I’ve just got a few more resources. I don’t feel like the show changed me at all.” The singer is preparing for the November 18th release of his self-titled debut album. But first up for him, an appearance on Saturday Night Live this week (November 1) with host Ben Affleck.
