Clinton’s Win in Indiana is Meaningless

Posted on 07 May 2008

Once again I think race has played a major role in an American contest. This time it is the Indiana Presidential Primary. Hillary Clinton won the state by a very narrow margin but it does appear she won there, but so what. We know many republicans secure in their own candidate intentionally crossed party lines to skew the voting. Indiana along with its eleven electoral votes has gone for a republican every cycle for the last forty years. Thinking that they will make a difference for the democrats in the Electoral College come next January is akin to thinking you have a chance at sleeping with two or three of America’s Top Models by then.

Had Barack won there on the other hand it wouldn’t be meaningless. Indiana along with being known for republicans and corn is also known for its racists. One should not pat Hillary on the back for beating Barack Obama in a state where the terms darkie and nigger are still widely used in public conversations. The fact that she didn’t win by a huge margin there only confirms she is not the right democratic candidate for November.
