Government Loans

I keep hearing talk about government loan guarantees and frankly this bothers me a bit. The one thing the government doesn’t do is bother to check anyone’s credit. I know ina way that sounds silly, but think on it for a moment. If the government made loans on the same standards it keeps telling others they will have to start making them on, then they would never loan these companies one red cent, much less two shiny nickels or thirty four billion dollars.
In many respects I think we should be sending these large corporations out to seek loans at Bad Credit Loan stores first. Better yet I think we should make the CEO, CFO, and the entire Board of Directors get half of their funds from Vito “The Hammer”. A good old fashioned loan shark would make these companies a little more responsible for the money they get.
In the end the government will no doubt make all the loans corporate giants are asking for, because they know big corporations donate to campaigns and so do their rich investors. Nobody holds a grudge like rich people who suddenly aren’t so rich, and they will no doubt know which politicians held any regrets about helping out the rich folks in need. My heart goes out to all those rich folks who will have to step down from Gucci and Versace to Brooks Brothers and Coach.
