More of What’s Hot! Possible casting spoilers for Desperate Housewives in this edition.
Elisabeth Hasselback, the conservative Republican co-host of the View, is staying right where she is. She’s be very vocal with her more liberal co-hosts this election season, but that doesn’t mean she’s leaving for Fox News as some rumors would have it. “While Elisabeth has a great relationship with Fox News, there is absolutely no truth to the rumor that she is leaving The View,” her agent, Babette Perry, says in a statement released Thursday afternoon. “Elisabeth is passionate in her beliefs and enjoys being a part of this dynamic group of women and engaging in daily conversations.” Karl Nilsson, Executive Publicity Director for The View, adds: “Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie, executive producers of The View, consider Elisabeth to be vital to the program.”
Saying that they have “every intention of letting [fans] be the first to know the reality,” Smallville executive producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders have issued a statement addressing rampant speculation that the development of The Graysons, a new CW series chronicling the pre-Batman days of young master Dick (aka Robin), means that Clark Kent’s own days are numbered. They assert that they have every intention of being committed to this current eighth season and possibly a ninth.
Finally, casting news for Desperate Housewives. When Susan’s now-adult daughter (played by Andrea Bowen) returns to Wisteria Lane next month, she’ll be bringing along a huge surprise: boyfriend Steven Weber. Weber is playing Julie’s thrice-divorced college professor-turned-lover, whose sudden appearance leads Susan to double her crazy-pill intake. Luckily for Susan, this won’t last long. So far Bowen and Weber are only slated for one episode.
