Here's Looking at You

I would love to Buy Property around the world, there are so many more places I think would benefit my family far better than living in the states right now, but alas it doesn’t seem to be for us.  I say that partly in truth, but the notion of moving my family away from the country so many are trying to get into makes me feel a little unclean.  I would love to stay and make America a better place.  Politicians and religious nut jobs who play at being politicians have gone a long way towards ruining the land of the free and home of the brave.

The part of me who is thinking as a father rather than patriot says I should get out and stay out and let that be a lesson to them.  The health care issues alone tell me move to Canada or Britain.  The fact I hate snow says move anywhere that doesn’t have weather like Ohio.  The Caribbean and Mediterranean coast all sound like good ideas to me.  I know I speak the local languages well enough to get by in the Caribbean, but I have this severe dislike of Hurricanes, their remnants are bad enough when they make it as far inland as Ohio, I don’t think I want to be on a small island when a big one hits.  The scholar and historian in me says go some place where you can continue to self educate yourself.  I could handle something in Greece if I could speak the language, but alas languages aren’t my forte.

For now though I will look to the change the Barack Obama promised and hope for a better tommorrow.  That is at least one good thing I have to look forward to in America. If it doesn’t go well, I understand we could always have Paris, even if we end up in Cassablanca.
