Four, Three Another Goes Home

One more goes home tonight. Who will it be? Will America finally put the “Go” in Danny Gokey? Will the top three be all boys? Can America save the rocker chic? Let’s find out in a jam-packed results show.

Ryan reveals that 64 million votes were cast, the highest number outside of a finale. There will be performances tonight from No Doubt, Daughtry and Idol’s very own Paula Abdul! And now we get to the Ford music video. And now into the group sing with Slash on guitar. “School’s Out” by Alice Cooper. Danny is terrible and should be voted out based on his little bit of the chorus alone. Kris Allen looks and sounds all kinds of out of place. Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta doing another little duet. They definitely need to record something on on each other’s records. I think it’s safe to say the best part of that was Slash.

Back from commercial Ryan checks in with the top four. Danny says Wednesdays are the most tiring. Kris says being in the top four is surreal. He didn’t think he’d make it this far. Ryan ask Simon and they both agree that Kris should think he does belong there. Adam loves the theme week. Ryan reveals it was the first time on Idol that a Led zepplin song was used. Brad comments that it might be the last time. Danny is asked about the final note he hit last night. He says he laughed about it all night.  At least he can admit how horrible it was. Allison is asked about being feisty. She says that talking back is not her, but she says Simon was asking for it. He totally was.

Now we get Paula’s performance. We get an intor clip before the pre-recorded bit. (EW reported that it was pre-recorded). The song is called “I’m just here for the music”.

PS I’m having too much fun also following Entertainment Weekly’s Micaehl Slezak as he live blogs the results show for the first time. Laugh along with me!

Back and Ryan is on stage with Ms. Abdul. She says being on stage is a happy place. More music to fill up the hour. No Doubt is doing their old favorite “Just a Girl”. I read reports that this is because they weren’t ready to debut anything from their new album yet. Okay, I was wrong, no new album, but a tour.

Will we now actually get some results? I think we will! We get a look back at some of the former Idol’s, actually winners and runners up from season four on, nope, top three, as they went home. Did they only start doing this in season four? Ryan says the finalists will be announced in random order.

We start with Miss Iraheta. Then moves onto Danny. Ryan teases and moves onto Adam. Then finally Kris. HE recaps all the judges comments per usual. Just get on with it Ryan. Tell us the bottom two already! He sends Kris to safety. He looked so genuinely surprised! I’m applauding! I’m inferring that this means Danny is in the bottom three. About damned time I say.

Looks like we’re gonna get Daughty before we get more results. We get a look back at his shocking Idol ouster and a bit more of Daughtry. They’ll have a new album coming out and will be singing “No Surprise” from that ablum right now. Brad thinks that if the Idols in season five had been allowed to use instruments Chris might of done better or even won. I’m liking the song. Afterwards, Chris gets a big ole hug from Ryan. Kris Allen brings out a plaque that says the debut album of Daughtry sold 5 million worldwide.

Back for the rest of the results. Ryan reminds us this is in random order. Next person safe is….Adam. Please, send Danny home!!!!!!! *cries* Danny is safe. BOOOOOOOOOOO! Allison says goodbye. I think is the first time that Idol doesn’t have a girl in the top three. I am very, very bummed. Danny should have gone home. I can hope for it next week. Tune in then for more Idol coverage.
