Idol Goes To Four, But Are They Fab

We lose yet another contestant tonight, ending up with a top four. Many, including myself, think that Matt Giraud has used all of his last resorts and will be leaving. Will we be saying goodbye to the most eliminated contestant or someone else. Will America put the GO in Gokey? Let’s find out!

Simon takes back some of his criticism from last night saying he rewatched the show and everyone was good. He calls it the most open competiton he’s seen. And now we get the Ford commercial. Now the group sing, If It Ain’t Got That Swing and I’ve Got Rhythm. They’re singing live and sounding fab, until Danny gets his solo. He kinda sounds rough.

Ha! They’ve got stools out instead of the couch. Ryan talks about the recent birthdays, Danny’s last Friday and my birthday twin Allison on Monday. So they show the idols cooking cakes. FOOD FIGHT!!! Allison blames Danny for starting the fight. Ryan gives Danny a gift, a piece of paper which is a bill from the cleaning company who cleaned it up, $6000.

Now results! Matt Giraud is up first. Ryan makes him stand on the right side of the stage. Danny Gokey is next. Danny is blathering on about his performance and I just want him to shut the hell up. Ryan sends him to the left side of the stage. Allison Iraheta now. She gets to stand next to Danny. Kris Allen next. I really hope he’s not in trouble. Kris goes and stands with Matt. Adam Lambert is last. He’ll get to choose which group to stand with, of course. I hate this. It’s awful and I hope he does the same thing as the last two years. Refuse to move, Adam. But he chooses Allison and Danny. But they are safe! They also both look kind of gobsmacked that Adam is in the bottom three. WTF? But with only five left it had to happen. Simon admits to maybe making some mistakes last night. Randy calls them all talented. Paula wishes it could be a five way tie.

Natalie Cole is now on stage after the commercial break. Looking great, Natalie! She gets a standing ovation from the judges. Next up is season five winner, Taylor Hicks. I just can’t understand how this guy won. I’ll be muting my stereo. At this stage of the game, they really should make the results show half an hour. Hell it should be half an hour anyway. Trying stuff like this is just…it’s wasteful. I understand why they need the Ford commercial, major sponsor and all that, but why all the performances? It’s just filler.

After Hicks performs Ryan sends Kris to safety. If Adams goes, OMG, I think I’ll have to disassociate myself from the show. They panned to Simon while Hicks was talking to Ryan and I swear he looked so bored, as if he was wondering how in the hell American Idol crowned Taylor Hicks as it’s winner once.

Now we get treated to Jaime Foxx’s vocal talents. Or not as I’m muting him too, no offense Jaime.He tells the contestants, after singing that it doesn’t matter who is in the bottom two (yes it does!) and then he pimps his movie, which is surprising because it has nothing to do with Fox, the network.

Back from commercial we get to find out who’s leaving. Ryan asks Simon for an opinion. He says one bad week isn’t bad, but Randy and Kare gloating that they were more on task. After 47 million voters. Adam is safe and we FINALLY say goodbye to Matt Giraud. He was saved in the Wild Card round. He was saved by the judges save. But finally he goes home. Maybe next week America will finally put the Go in Gokey.
