WASHINGTON — The steady loss of “good jobs” by less-educated workers has left them more vulnerable to recession than at any time in nearly 30 years, and signs are mounting that a recession is either already here or coming soon.
There comes a point in time when we have to open our eyes to the reality of the world we live in rather than just charging blindly ahead. The fact is in the US we need more workers not fewer. The first objection people have is foreigners will come steal our jobs, but that is crap. With the retail expansion we have on we can barely fill these low wage jobs no one seems to want in the first place.
Everyday we see a either a competitor of our local large chain store opening up shop, or that large chain store fearing they will lose market share if they don’t open up a new store on just the other side of the new housing development. Such is urban sprawl at its finest. Most of these stores open up with less than half the people they need to run efficiently, which is a far cry from the number of jobs a store could support.. Retail chains haven’t seemed to figure out that you can only stretch customers and employees so far before something breaks. Not to mention no matter how upper management will end up blaming the local management and the employees for sales being down, you just can’t get people to buy at your store if they don’t come in or if they spent all their money on identical items just across the street.There are only so many many people and so many dollars to go around.
There is a solution, throw open the borders. Yes we are back to they will take our jobs. Well the fact is if a foreigner who doesn’t speak the language very takes your job, then you were already on the way out the door, you just didn’t know it yet. The next question always is, “where will they live?” In case people haven’t realized it we have a surplus of housing. Everyday we abandon livable properties to build new ones. Most of these inner city and suburban homes which eventually become blight because they are vacant could be saved by new immigrant tenants. I know what some of you are going to say something about about how they choose to live and will just crap it up even more. That is true about some of them, but it should be noted the term “poor white trash” has been around a long time, and didn’t come about because of foreigners or minorities already living here.
What about resources you say. Well that is easy to fix, the more people there are the more food Kroger sells, the more toilet paper Wal-mart sells, and the more clothes target sells. The more that is sold the more jobs get filled. The more people who have jobs, the more times they go to McDonald’s, the more time these people go to McDonald’s. The more times they go to McDonald’s, the closer they are to being just like everyone else who is already here.
The next big thing you will say in defense of keeping foreigners out is they could be terrorists. Well frankly that is as illogical of an argument as you can make. We have spent all told close to a trillion dollars trying to find one guy named Osama, and can’t manage to do it. Yet it only took a couple of weeks for every bill collector in the country to find my new unlisted telephone number after I moved. If we want to find a terrorist, all we need to do is hire a collection agent. All levity aside it will go so much easier and be politically and financially beneficial if we let these people into the country and work to quickly make them citizens. Why make them citizens when they might blow up a building? Easy. We spend a million dollars a day keeping detainees who might be terrorists or might know a terrorist on a casual basis under lock and key because we can’t send them home and we can’t bring them here, and we sure the hell can’t let them go. If they commit an act of terror here, we have the law on our side to try, convict and execute them. If they do something treasonous, we kill them. You are still saying but they could do something bad to us. Yes they could. On the other hand if they live someplace else they can still do it and we can’t do shit about it without getting the world all over our asses for it. There is also the fact that with so many new people living in this country, casual bystanders who didn’t care if some religious extremous blew up our country aren’t going to stand by and let this shithead get their families killed in the process. It is amazing what people having a steak in something will do to protect it
