The Repulicans are jumping ship every where. The real question is will they be Democrats in name only or have they seen the error of their ways?

WASHINGTON — For months, Mark Wagner stuck by John McCain, even as the economy stalled and other Americans came to blame Republican leadership. Then, about three weeks ago, the deepening economic downturn pushed him to reconsider.

Now, the Florida salesman and staunch Republican has abandoned the GOP ticket. Sarah Palin, he thinks, looks under-equipped to be vice president. And McCain, he says, displayed an unsteady response to what may be a global economic depression.

Republican Judges Jumping Ship For Democratic Party – Politics News Story – KXAS | Dallas

DALLAS –
As many as seven Republican judges in Dallas County are jumping to the Democratic Party.

The judges said the switch is a business decision.

“At this point, it’s the right thing for me to do,” said Judge Elizabeth Crowder. “Professionally, it’s the right decision to make.”

She said the most judges would say that politics stop at the courthouse door.

“Most judges do not want to be involved in the partisan process, but we are forced to,” said Judge John Creuzot.

Creuzot, who has previously switched his party before, said he has won primaries in and been elected from both parties.

“But the reality is of it is, there are swings in counties, and if you want to continue to be elected and do your job — hopefully in a nonpartisan basis — that you need to understand that and be flexible with it,” he said.

This sentiment is no longer just limited now, to the McCain campaign, as hatred seems to be spilling over into other Republican down ticket races. In a rally for the Republican Senator from Georgia’s relection, shouts of “Bomb Obama!” were heard. The Republican party is careening out of control in the absence of leadership. George Bush is toxic, John McCain, Boehner and Mitch McConnell were unable to command the Republicans into passing the first bail-out, and now even the crowds are taking on the character of unruly mobs. Crowd members here lecture McCain, telling him to “stand up” against socialists Pelosi and Obama. Does McCain do anything to silence the crowd, hush them back in to reasonableness? No, he agrees with the man.

Some Republicans are jumping ship.

I love it when Republicans see the error of their ways and join the Democratic Party. Sometimes they join the Democratic Party for more opportunistic reasons and might not see any errors, certainly not in their own ways. I’ve talked to a number who saw errors in Bush’s and Cheney’s ways. But their own? Not so much.

Last year Rahm Emanuel and other Inside the Beltway slimeballs were maneuvering full-time to replace dedicated progressive, grassroots, antiwar, lifelong Democrats like Jan Schnieder and Dave Lutrin be replaced by… Republicans who had switched parties. Tim Mahoney may now have a voter registration card that says “Democrat,” but he’s basically a Republican. Democrats who don’t know any better are excited because Christine Jennings– who was cheated out of an electoral victory against right-wing extremist Vern Buchanan– has decided to run again. Oh for joy, for joy? Not so fast. Jennings, should she win, will in all likelihood be another fake-Dem, voting for the agenda of her former party– just like other former Emanuel candidates who are now reactionary members of Congress: Heath Shuler, Harry Mitchell, Tim Mahoney, Baron Hill, Brad Ellsworth and Joe Donnelly.

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (AP) — Sen. Barack Obama isn’t just inspiring black voters to register in large numbers as he gets closer to being the Democratic presidential nominee. Evidence indicates that he’s motivating some black Republicans to switch parties.

The only three states that track voting registration by party and race show black Republican registration dropping slightly since the beginning of the year.

Florida has 81,512 more black Democrats compared to a loss of 784 black Republicans; Louisiana has 34,325 more black Democrats, while the number of black Republicans dropped by 907; North Carolina has 92,356 more black Democrats and 2,850 fewer black Republicans.

Are Cuban Americans Switching Party Lines?
While the Latino vote as a whole may be unpredictable, the Republican Party has traditionally had a solid hold on the Cuban-American vote. Now there are signs that hold may be slipping, according to NPR. In south Florida, Democrats are seriously challenging three GOP Cuban-American congressional incumbents. The biggest battle is being fought in the 21st Congressional District, where eight-term incumbent Republican Lincoln Diaz-Balart is up against Democrat Raul Martinez, mayor of Hialeah, which has a vibrant Cuban-American community.
