Oscars Coverage Live

I’ll be liveblogging the ceremony for What’s Hot  readers. See everyone at 8:30.

Watching some of the red carpet coverage. Kate Winslet looks wonderful. I LOVE Amy Adams’ dress, the color, the style, everything. What the hell is Miley Cyrus wearing!!!???!!! Anne Hathaway is looking glorious in Armani. Brad says Marisa Tomei’s dress looks like a great big napkin.

WEll, the band is on the stage, not sure how I like that. Hugh Jackman is looking absolutely gorgeous. And he is doing a opening number. I love it! I totally love the homemade props (or they’re supposed to look like it). I think Anne was in on this but it’s still funny. And of course he had to fit in the Wolverine reference. I loved this but I’m thinking the critics will be very love or hate it.

A little flub up with getting the curtains open to reveal the screen.

Five presenters for one award. I know Javier Bardeem couldn’t be there but 5? nd a in depth description of the role? Not a way to keep the ceremony short people.

Best Supporting Actress: Penelope Cruz! She’d been gaining momentum and this is an awesome win!

Tina Fey and Steve Martin, doing a funny little bit about screenwriting.

Best Original Screenplay: Dusitn Lance Black for Milk. No Wall-E upset here as some ha put out there.

Adapted Screenplay: Simon Beaufoy for Slumdog Millionaire, the first of probably many.

Animated Feature: Wall-E

Okay I must applaud the winner of the Best Animated Short who was struggling with his English and then said “Domo Oragato, Mr. Roboto.” I laughed.

Robert Pattinson hasn’t really done anything with his hair, maybe a little get, but at least that’s something.

Nice try there Ben. (Trying to paradoy Joaquin Phoenix.) But I love the color of Natalie Portman’s dress. This is the Oscars, try to be a little sophisticated.

Another Slumdog win with the Cinematography Oscar.

Jessica Biel, what the hell is with your dress?

Another musical number? It’s good  but…..time waster!!! What happened to keeping things short?

Best  Supporting Actor: Heath Ledger, as accepted by his mom, dad and sister. If it hadn’t been him there would have been such an outcry.

Sorry for not blogging much but there’s been a lot of the technical awards. I loved the redheaded guy who was on stage for “Man on a Wire” and I LOVED the color and fabric of the dress the woman who won for documentary short (long?) was wearing.

Bollywood dance time! AKA Original Song nominees.

The In Memorium section was great. I may have shed a tear or two.

Best Director: Danny Boyle, Slumdog Millionare (Yay!)

I wanna look half as good as Sophia Loren does when I’m her age.

Best Actress: Kate Winslet, I’m glad that she’s not crying and blubbering.

Best Actor: Sean Penn who is now a two time winner.

Best Picture: Slumdog Millionaire. That means it took all but one of the Oscars it was nominated for (it lost to The Dark Knight for Sound Editing)
