PageRank and Technorati Authority

[ad]In order to make ones blog popular at least among those who don’t know you, there are a couple of key things one needs to do.  First is raise your Google PageRank.  Second is increase your Technorati Authority.  I have found a great link exchange program on top25web.com.  Their main page has quite a few great resources.  Their Directory List has a very list of other directories and the services offered as well.  I have already added Top25Web.com to my blogroll.

The best way to raise your Technorati Authority is simply by getting your site listed on other popular blogs.  I did a test on the Brad’s Tiny World seeing how fast I could raise The Other Blog while it was theotherblog.net. I managed to make it a 6 in a week and in less than another week it raised itself to a 7 with even with the server being down and the blog unaccessible for most of the week.  During that time Brad’s Tiny World’s association with The other Blog also raised it from a 2 to a 6.  Look for blogs with a spot to put your url when you comment.  For the sake of those who offer this service post something relevant in your comments.  It is also polite to provide alink back to them.  I do that on the You Comment – I Follow page of the Brad’s Tiny World.

The other way to raise your Technorati Authority is a given, post lots of Technorati Tags.  If you are using WordPress 2.3 the easiest most effective way is to use Technorati Tags for WordPress 2.3 The plugin uses WordPress’s native tagging structure.  There are a number of other tagging plugins for previous releases of WordPress including my favorite Ultimate Tag Warrior.
