As some of you may have noticed The Hart Blog Network has been undergoing several changes since the beginning of the year. I know this is the time of year many of you may be thinking about making changes too. I wanted to give you a few tips when it came to picking a new hosting company.
- Figure out how much disk space you need and plan for double it for the following year.
- When making your disk space calculation also make sure you are counting nodes or individual files since many of the so called unlimited disk space companies giving you as much space as you want but limit your nodes.
- Don’t get caught up in pretty features that you won’t ever use. Most of the time having an unlimited number of email accounts seems cool, but just how many can you use as a blogger.
- If you are a growing blog figure over the course of the year you will need to add 50% bandwidth to your monthly total.
- Last but no least make sure the company isn’t overselling their service. If they sell unbelievable amounts prettiness for next to nothing then you are probably going to be sorry you went with that company rather than a reliable well known host.
