Before we get started belittling awful sounding people I want to take a moment and mention two separate events in the music world. Yesterday, January 27th, marked the fiftieth anniversary of the day the music died. To commemorate the loss of Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Richie Valens American Idol played the worst auditions thus far. Today we say good bye to Billy Powell of Lynyrd Skynyrd of an apparent heart attack. His fluid keyboard style will live on in Freebird, They Call Me The Breeze, and Sweet Home Alabama as legendary. May no one defile the night by trying to sing Skynyrd on Idol.

David Osmond is the only winner in the first fifteen minutes.
David Osmond son of Alan Osmond gets his story out and is our first contestant. He auditions with Take Six and has a voice that could take him into the top ten. He gets some harsh critiques, but they send him through on the power of his voice.
Tara Mathews, Salt lake City’s only Goth, thinks she has ESP. Sings from the Moulon Rouge Soundtrack, or thinks she is singing, it is more like sinking. She sucks bring back the Osmond kid. Who would have ever thought I would say that.
Greg the Rabbit adds to the weirdness but Chris Kirkam didn’t sound horrid. I think they are making a mistake sending him away, with as bad as most of the others we have seen in the last few nights.
Frankie Jordan, sounds really good. After Simon says he likes her voice Frankie gets to go to Hollywood. I think we should have been looking at her ass.
Single mom Megan Corkrey is also another hottie. This season could be season of the MILF’s.

Andrew Gibson tried to have soul, but well I couldn’t go with this.
Austin Sistneros has a voice that could be better, but could be a lot worse. He tries to sing Raffi with a Whole Village. I actually like this one a lot better. Randy says it he has bad song choices, but he sings well and is likable. I hope he is not the next David Archuletta.
Why are we sending away so many pretty girls?
Jarret Burns rocks with some serious soul.
Samoan Taylor Vaifanu is 5’11″ flat footed and if she doesn’t make it singing she could be an awesome model. Everyone loved her and she is through.
Rose Flack gives her sob story as the last contestant of the day. After her and Taylor I take back what I said about the pretty ones. She has a tough story, and I can’t hear it in the way she sings. She has one or two notes I didn’t like but she has star potential. She won’t win this but I think she is good enough to be picked up by a label and get the polished training she needs.
Tomorrow we get two cities in one night to get the pain over and done with. Prepare for NYC and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Next week is Hollywood Week.
