Scholarship in Maryland

More students due well despite the overall slump during the Bush years.

Mariah McKenzie, left, of Mountain Ridge High School, and Jaclyn Wolf of Fort Hill High School won scholarships recently at the 41st annual Tri-State College Night at Allegany College of Maryland. McKenzie was the recipient of a $500 senior scholarship to be used at Allegany College of Maryland. Wolf was awarded a $200 junior scholarship to be redeemed at the college of her choice. Approximately 200 students attended the event from the tri-state area and 70 educational institutions were represented. Other scholarship winners included Abigail Hutzell of Frankfort High School and Catherine Czapski of Bishop Walsh School. The four scholarships, which range from $200 to $500 and total $1,400, are sponsored by the Allegany County Guidance Counselors Association.
