Senate Newspaper Hearings To Begin May 6

Dear Senator Kerry,

You are an idiot. Print versions of newspapers have been tolling their death knells for nearly a decade. As someone who embraced the online movement during your bid for the presidency I would have thought you of all people would have realized this.

We have spent too much keeping anachronistic companies afloat. Newspapers that have failed to change with the times because they believed they controlled the media are no different from car companies that didn’t feel the need to prepare for the future. Both are short sighted and deserve to fail. If you wish to spend tax payer money on helping those affected by failing industries, that is a good use of tax payer money. It is however a piss poor use of funds to throw good money after bad into an industry with no future.

It is time to use the intellect we know you have to push a responsible approach to this dying industry. They are not being forced out of business by a bigger juggernaut. Their passing will not leave us, the people, without a voice. The end of print newspapers does not diminish our society in any way. Get with the program and quit pandering to companies simply because they are ass deep in politics no matter how much they claim to be independent.
