Sitting back on Saturday

It has snowed better than a foot and is still coming down. If it wasn’t for the fact I need to go to the post office and the grocery store later I would be content to sit around in my robe and do geeky things like every person who discovered Jolt cola and ISCA BBS in the same year should be doing. I digress though, I have moved on from ISCA to YIM, and Second Life. Jolt just isn’t widely available around here, but I have learned to compensate with extra coffee and Pepsi Max. A few more pieces of geek nostalgia have fallen into my lap of late. I was happy to see the latest trailer for Get Smart.
Seeing Steve say, “Missed it by that much,” took me back to late nights watching old reruns on the Kansas City Fox affiliate before Fox had any memorable programming of its own. I am sure they had something, but it wasn’t memorable or as cool and sophisticated as the Twilight Zone or Get Smart. Come to think of it aside from the animated Fox shows none of them are still as sophisticated or cool as vintage Twilight Zone of Get Smart.
The next bit of movie nostalgia for me is the latest Indiana Jones movie. The wife, much to my chagrin still thinks Harrison is hot enough to sleep with. It does however give me hope that when I am a wrinkly sixty something I will still be having sex.
The last two movies I thankfully don’t have clips of because it would be just to damned depressing to put up clips of sequels to The Last Star Fighter and The Lost Boys.

The Last Star Fighter is classic. When is the sequel coming out?

I haven’t heard a release date yet, in fact this is only link I have seen to it of late. http://www.firstshowing.net/2008/02/28/the-last-starfighter-is-getting-a-sequel-too/

Thanks for the link. I think they got their story from here:

I hope they turn this into a good movie. I was in Korea when Transformers came out and people were talking about it there, but it just wasn’t the same. Nobody had the personal history with the TV show – they didn’t even have the song memorized…
