Senate Leadership Opposes Ron Paul’s Federal Reserve Transparency Act
In July 2009, Congress held hearings on the Federal Reserve System’s independence. Congress discussed Ron Paul’s bill, HR 1207, known as the Federal Reserve Transparency Act, as well as whether or not the Federal Reserve should continue to operate independently. Despite strong support in the House, Senate leadership opposes Senator Jim DeMint’s efforts to attach it to another piece of legislation. Continue reading
