Middle East – Sports & Athletes

Toward the end of the 1940s, the men’s football team of Afghanistan came in 18th place in the Summer Olympic Games in London, United Kingdom. At the XIV Summer Games, Afghanistan –a country with serious domestic problems– lost 6-0 to Luxembourg. For the first time, soccer players from Afghanistan took part in an Olympic Tournament. Music Review of Modern Guilt by Beck

Modern Guilt dives in with folky opener “Orphans”. It has a distant bass sound in the beginning. Once the guitar enters and Beck voices out, the track just hits the jackpot like that. It produces a country-like atmosphere to it, folk and country rock altogether. Continue reading

The Soloist – Movie Review

I went into this film thinking two things. Either Wright would pull of what I thought to be the impossible, and have the film be somewhat remarkable. Or what I expected to happen, the film would fall flat on most levels and be quite the mess. Music Review of the Red Album by Weezer

Weezer (The Red Album) has a crunchy opening with “Troublemaker”. The opening guitar strumming sounds like “The Good Life” from Pinkerton. Rivers just sings in a fast pace to catch up with the guitar and drum beat. While singing the verse, the bass will come in at certain beats and produces sounds as if the thunder is going to strike. Continue reading
